I need help with Wine selection?

So it’s my good friend’s birthday. We have become good friends for like 3 weeks now but he is my new neighbor as well as my new classmate. He helped me soooo much during the move ins and everything and tonight is his birthday.

I wanted to get him something very classy and good but I don’t drink myself, and never been around people who drink sooo my information on alcohol is 0.
He drinks beer and he likes it but I wanted to get him some good wine, unless you can tell me of something more classy and appropriate. He is turning 26.

Please help me pick a classy, cool, kind, and nice drink I can get my friend which is also appropriate for a girl to give to a new guy friend. I really know nothing about the culture of giving alcohol as a birthday present… but that’s what he asked for :D

I can go up to 0.00

Thanks

I Need Some Help With Wine Selection?

ASAP! Wine selection?

I need a good wine in the -30 dollar range. Preferably a merlot or cab. Any suggestions?

My bridal shower is next weekend (the 28th) and one of my three bridesmaids completely took over all the planning for my bridal shower and is doing a really great job. I don’t know details, but I hear it’s going to be awesome. She’s even paying for the whole thing herself as a wedding gift to us.

I wanted to give her something after the shower to thank her for all her efforts and hard work. I thought of sending flowers, but her birthday is a month and a half later (2 days before our wedding) and I’ll probably send flowers for her birthday. I thought of a bottle of nice wine, but that seems a bit cheesy. I’m also giving her a really nice bridesmaid gift, pearl earrings, a leather passport cover, manicure set, and silver monogrammed keychain in a personalized tote bag with her name.

Any other ideas for something nice, but not too expensive, that I can give her in thanks for all of her hard work? Should I just take her out to lunch or something instead?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Ok…So I finally got around to sitting, rambling, and writing something
Postcards from a muse, or Traveling chick checks trousers
Just writing stuff…..

Umber Ella and Her Tote that Fell Over

Dimmed now,
the glints from her flinted eyes
veiled the story of her heart’s demise.

He wasn’t there…

Empty now,
Her glass, garnet filled, the second of three
that stretched the minutes into eternity.

He didn’t answer…

Closed now,
Her cell phone, oddly twirling under fingers of frantic,
thoughts puddle to frets, less than romantic.

But he’d said…

Poured now,
Her third glass of to be sipped stop-the-clock bliss
as umber lights dance in rain shadows, dismissed.

Did he really?

Defeated now,
The truth of his might, even less than his may
bittered her wine; her silvered hope, it frayed.

She decided…

Standing now,
A love built on maybes, in pastel side road cafe’s
Fades faster than wishes of an un-bought bouquet.

Wine selection question?

I making a pasta dish with a tomato based sauce, but I’m also using chicken as the meat portion of the meal. What wine, both color and variety of said color, should I go with? Need to know before Saturday!!!!

What is a good bridesmaid gift?

I’m having a fall themed wedding and don’t know what to get my "maids". I was thinking tote bags and a bottle of cranberry wine but Im at a loss for what else I could get them. Thoughts?

Okay, I’m traveling from coast to coast in an RV. I want to bring several bottles of wine with me but my husband says it’s illegal. I say he’s full of it. Soooo, CAN I do this and if so, how can I pack/store it without him seeing it?

Need Help with Wine selection?

OK I’m making homemade pizza for my GF next weekend and I want a great wine to go with it. I’m not a wine hobbyist (as you can tell) I want something that will be good, but not break the bank because I’m a poor college student. I read somewhere that a Joel Gott 2005 Zinfandel would be good, but I’m not here I can it here in Nebraska. Any suggestion would be most appreciated.

How can I use an old wine tote?

It still looks brand new, but I don’t use a tote for wine. Any nifty or crafty ideas to utilize it around the house?
