I need help with Wine selection?
So it’s my good friend’s birthday. We have become good friends for like 3 weeks now but he is my new neighbor as well as my new classmate. He helped me soooo much during the move ins and everything and tonight is his birthday.
I wanted to get him something very classy and good but I don’t drink myself, and never been around people who drink sooo my information on alcohol is 0.
He drinks beer and he likes it but I wanted to get him some good wine, unless you can tell me of something more classy and appropriate. He is turning 26.
Please help me pick a classy, cool, kind, and nice drink I can get my friend which is also appropriate for a girl to give to a new guy friend. I really know nothing about the culture of giving alcohol as a birthday present… but that’s what he asked for
I can go up to 0.00
Thanks

I love Zinfandel and I buy Beringers and it won’t break the bank also Sutter Home is also another good choice
I spent a while trying wines from all round the world and eventually decided that I preferred wines with certain grape varieties such as Malbec or Pinotage as full bodied reds – Installed a cooling unit in the kitchen to store my favourites so I could buy better wines by the case to use over a couple of years
Since this is a male friend, I would first of all go with a red wine. If you want to get something that is very tasty and popular right now, but not prohibitively expensive, I would go with a Rhone-style wine from either Paso Robles or Santa Barbara County, which are both located on the California Central Coast.
