Bridesmaids, for your gift…?

Bridesmaids, for your gift from the bride would you be happy to receive:

Handmade calico tote with design in wedding colours (to hold the other gifts in)
Good quality sparkly chandelier earrings
White satin evening bag with metal snap closure
Bottle of champagne/sparkling wine.
Revlon Glosslight lipgloss
Shimmer puff.

That comes to .
Would you be happy to recieve that? Do you think that is enough?
I was also thinking of getting them some sort of perfume, maybe…

Can you make any suggestions what else you might like to receive. My max budget was each.
lol, they are all real "girly" girls so I’m not too worried about them not using the stuff…
I am paying for their hair and makeup as well.

Ok…So I finally got around to sitting, rambling, and writing something
Postcards from a muse, or Traveling chick checks trousers
Just writing stuff…..

Umber Ella and Her Tote that Fell Over

Dimmed now,
the glints from her flinted eyes
veiled the story of her heart’s demise.

He wasn’t there…

Empty now,
Her glass, garnet filled, the second of three
that stretched the minutes into eternity.

He didn’t answer…

Closed now,
Her cell phone, oddly twirling under fingers of frantic,
thoughts puddle to frets, less than romantic.

But he’d said…

Poured now,
Her third glass of to be sipped stop-the-clock bliss
as umber lights dance in rain shadows, dismissed.

Did he really?

Defeated now,
The truth of his might, even less than his may
bittered her wine; her silvered hope, it frayed.

She decided…

Standing now,
A love built on maybes, in pastel side road cafe’s
Fades faster than wishes of an un-bought bouquet.
NexxJordan…..I stink when it comes to titles….other suggestions?

I am putting on a rehersal dinner for just over 50 guests and will be supplying the beer and wine for the evening. From what I have gathered, one bottle of wine for every 2 people seems to be the general consensus for what to keep on hand. What types of wine should I provide? Of the 25-30 bottles, should half be white and the other half red? One type of white and one type of red?

What about beer? How much should I provide? How large of a selection?

Thank you in advance for you help.
As far as the pairing of wine or beer to the menu, I am waiting on the chef to finish creating the menu before asking what she feels would be a good compliment to the dishes. Idealy I would buy wines that compliment the dishes being served. However I am still stuck with the question of how much wine to bring. There is an open bar at the rehersal and my better half has already mentioned that hung over people at the wedding may not be "in my best interest." :)

I also do not mind going over in the wine department, they keep well and we will undoubtably work our way through them in the following year.

Are kegs at a rehearsal dinner tacky?

Side note, the dinner is at an art gallery. I dont know if this should warrant a change in any suggestions or not… but…

What is a good bridesmaid gift?

I’m having a fall themed wedding and don’t know what to get my "maids". I was thinking tote bags and a bottle of cranberry wine but Im at a loss for what else I could get them. Thoughts?

I make some really cool home decor products (sign boards with custom sayings, etched wine glasses & pitchers, personalized totes etc.) and I want to expand from craft shows to direct "home show" sales. What materials do I need to have printed, or make for my hostess? I have created some postcards, but I don’t know what else I need. I know some of you sell Mary Kay, Pampered etc. Please let me know where to go from here. Thanks a lot!

Help with wine selection?

I have been experiencing with some different wines and have really become fond of white wines however i have found for the most part they don’t seem to go well with red meat and pasta. I have tryed merlot in the past and hated it my question are all red wines like that or does anyone have suggestions for a "better" red wine to go with pasta and red meat.

Need Help with Wine selection?

OK I’m making homemade pizza for my GF next weekend and I want a great wine to go with it. I’m not a wine hobbyist (as you can tell) I want something that will be good, but not break the bank because I’m a poor college student. I read somewhere that a Joel Gott 2005 Zinfandel would be good, but I’m not here I can it here in Nebraska. Any suggestion would be most appreciated.

How can I use an old wine tote?

It still looks brand new, but I don’t use a tote for wine. Any nifty or crafty ideas to utilize it around the house?
